Mia Pagoda is located in Dong Sang village, far from Hanoi centre about 45km. The pagoda is not only famous for various Buddha statues, but also attracts visitors by its tranquil atmosphere with historical stories behind.

Mia Pagoda is also called as Sung Nghiem Tu and was built in Tran Dynasty. Through many years, in 17th century the pagoda was deserted. In Duc Long Dynasty, Mia Pagoda was reconstructed in 1632 under the controlling of Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dong. After that, to respect her work, local people called her as Mia Princess, sculptured her statue and placed in the temple for worship.

After that, despite of being restored several times, the main architecture and statues here were still preserved carefully.

The Pagoda is located in a hill and includes three main areas. In the outside area is a big bell tower surrounded by old banyan trees. That brings a peaceful atmosphere in this solemn place. Passing the big gate is a row of rooms for monks and besides, there are a range of buildings.

One of the main buildings here is sanctum. The work of Mia princess was written on a 1.6m high- stone stele and placed in this area. In addition, visitors can continually explore the traditional worship of Vietnamese people through some other buildings in Mia pagoda such as Ha pagoda, Tong pagoda,

The highlight of Mia pagoda is a huge number of statues. There are 287 different Buddha statues and each statue represents lively different postures and adorned by beautiful colors. From eyes to hands and clothes of statues, all of them reflect the seriousness and mercy of Buddha.
